Sewing Classes in Bordentown, NJ
Class Registration: All sewing classes and events must be pre-registered and paid at least one week in advance to hold your space. To provide quality education to each student, many classes have a limited number of seats available. Registration may be done in person, by phone or on-line using a credit card, check or cash. To help prevent class cancellations, students are encouraged to register early. So we can have everything ready for you and the other students, registration for a sewing class closes one week before a scheduled class. This allows us to make appropriate preparations and offer an available spot to other students who may be on the wait list. In the event you wish to bring someone with you to class, a separate class registration for that person is required.
Class Cancellation Policy: If Stony Brook Sew & Vac cancels a class due to low enrollment, teacher emergency or inclement weather, students will be notified by telephone or email. You will receive a refund of your payment for the class or credit to be used towards another class.
If you must cancel, kindly notify Stony Brook Sew & Vac via email or phone call to the store a minimum of one week before class for a full refund or store credit. NO refund (including kit fees) will be given if you cancel less than a week before class. Not showing up for a class forfeits any refund or exchange (including kit fees). No exceptions are made for the policy.
Class Supplies: Once you have registered for a class you will be emailed a list of supplies needed for the class. All supplies should be purchased prior to the day the class begins. Class time cannot be used to purchase supplies. All supplies and fabric are available at Stony Brook Sew & Vac. We are available to assist you with the selection of class supplies. In appreciation, students receive a 10% discount on all class supplies purchased at Stony Brook Sew & Vac. Due to copyright laws, if a book, pattern or embroidery design is required for a class, each student must purchase their own copy. There are no exceptions. Students should bring their own sewing machine with all of the appropriate parts (including the instruction manual, foot control and power cord). The student must be familiar with its basic operation (i.e. winding a bobbin and threading the machine) , and the machine must be in good working condition. Alternatively, a student may pre-register to rent a sewing machine for creative classes for $15 per class session. A student who experiences great difficulty with their sewing machine during class will need to rent a machine. It is critical for classroom time to focus on the class project. Therefore, minimal time is available for troubleshooting machine problems.
Please be considerate of others. Do not bring children to class, wear heavy perfume or use cell phones during class. Please be on time for class or better yet, come 15 minutes early to set up your sewing space. Classes begin and end promptly at the scheduled time.
