Join Amber for this 6 month club to learn and create with your serger using different presser feet and stitches.
Learn your Overlock class is a Prerequisite before joining the club.

Month #2 Lined Zipper Pouch
TUTORIAL FOR A LINED ZIPPER POUCH USING THE SERGER AND QUILTER’S GRID INTERFACING
To make this zipper pouch we will create a “faux quilted” pattern utilizing quilter’s 1” grid interfacing & 3-inch squares of your choice.
You will need the following:
3/8 yard of 1 inch Quilter’s Grid (highly recommended for this)
-OR- SF101 Shape Flex/Bosal Interfacing will also work
24 3-inch squares (3/8 yard of fabric)
3/8 yard of fabric for lining (cut into a 13x18in. piece)
1/2 yard of Pellon Fusible Fleece interfacing or Batting
1 20” Nylon zipper – bring an extra one for practice (does NOT have to be 20”)

1 extra fat quarter of fabric
3mm or 5mm Cording Foot for your Serger machine
1 yard of Piping
90/14 machine needles
Clear ruler
Frixon pen for marking
A hand sewing needle
***Important Note*** Please check that your cording foot matches the same mm as your nylon zipper, as well as, your piping. By holding them under the presser foot and making sure they line up & fit into the groove underneath the foot will ensure proper sizing.

Serger with universal presser foot
Size 90 needles
4 spools of thread
1 spool of thread that matches fabric choice or your favorite color
Spray adhesive or Fabric Glue Stick

Cutting for 1st class
Batting:
Size A cut 1 at 8″ x 24.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 6.5″ x 6.5″ for bottom
Size B cut 1 at 10″ x 32.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 8.5″ x 8.5″ for bottom
Outer Fabric:
Size A cut 1 at 8″ x 24.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 6.5″ x 6.5″ for bottom
Size B cut 1 at 10″ x 32.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 8.5″ x 8.5″ for bottom
Lining Fabric:
Size A cut 1 at 8″ x 24.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 6.5″ x 6.5″ for bottom
Size B cut 1 at 10″ x 32.75″ for sides; cut 1 at 8.5″ x 8.5″ for bottom
Choose size A or B and cut pieces for that size. If you want to make two sizes then cut fabric for both.
Bring extra fabric and batting for testing out the stitches before actually serging the project and if time allows we will make a second project. Bring an additional 1/2 yard of fabric for the second project.
